Summary of Adaptations

Full Resource Adaptations

Across all chapters and sections of the resource, the following adaptations were made, where necessary:

  • Edited all mathematical notations to have them appear in LaTex
  • Created and added H5P activities for select concepts
  • Embedded content videos from YouTube
    • Citations added under embedded videos
  • Added solution dropdowns for select exercises
  • Added Learning Objectives for all Sections
  • Added Heading 1 to main parts of Sections, for links in the Table of Contents
  • Consistent colored textboxes throughout
  • Renumbered Section Exercises at the end of each Section content
  • Added “Key Concepts” and “Key Equations” into corresponding sections; taken from adapted resources’ Chapter Reviews
  • Added “Glossary” into corresponding sections; taken from adapted resources’ Chapter Reviews: “Key Terms”
  • Minor editing, removal, and reordering of content (including exercises and examples) for flow and clarity
  • Minor clean-up editing:
    • Deleted select “Media” sections (many of these videos are the embedded YouTube videos)
    • Resized tables
    • Added numbers to Examples, figures, and tables
  • Adjusted some language throughout for clarity
  • Images (non-math content photos) added to Pressbook Media Library and pertinent attribution information added; shown as Media Attributions at the bottom of pages
    • Note: All math content specific images are from the source as stated in the metadata, unless otherwise noted
  • Captions added for accessibility to:
    • Tables
    • Images on Introductions – same captions provided from source; alt-tag used as provided from source
    • Images (non-math photos) throughout the text – same captions provided from source; alt-tag used as provided from source

Section-Specific Adaptations

  • Contented added to a new section from Chemistry and Physics texts

Chapter 3 Technology Section

  • Graphing using Desmos Technology was added; written by author Karen Perilloux

5.8 Variation: Applications in Science

  • Kepler’s Law information at the top of the section was written by author, Kristina VanDusen
