Introduction

This book is designed to be used in a one-semester Applied Algebra course that is a freshmen level, gateway math course. It was written to be used mainly for students in technical programs and non-STEM students, but there is content still built into the text that would allow this book to be used for STEM student courses as well. Sections were added (#.R) as review sections in some chapters so that the textbook can be used for corequisite support courses. The main purpose of this Applied Algebra textbook is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems.
