After completing the lab, the student will be able to:
- Explain how to safely work in the lab.
Introduction
- It is important to recognize all the possible dangers in a laboratory environment.
- In some cases, these are familiar household items, and there is a danger of making yourself vulnerable by letting your guard down.
Procedure
- Access to the internet or a downloaded version of the safety video
Step 1: Watch the lab safety video.
Discussion
- Describe what you would do in each of the following situations. Enter into your lab notebook.
- You are hungry immediately before lab and go to get a snack, which you have not finished before lab starts.
- You have just warmed water to 90 degrees fahrenheit on a hot plate, finishing 2 minutes ago, and lab is ending.
