30 Peer Pointers

Levers: Muscles attach to multiple bones, and bones
act as levers which aid in movement. Levers help
distribute weight more equally along the body.

First Class Levers: the Fulcrum is in the middle. Ex: pry bar

Second Class Levers: The Load is in the middle. Ex: wheelbarrow

Third Class Levers: The Force is in the middle. Ex: kitchen tongs

The Fulcrum is the joint. The Muscles are the applied force. The Load is the weight.

Extra tips:
*Muscles with “major” in the name are always below
muscles with the name “minor”
*the point of Origin is always proximal
*The point of Insertion is always distal
*The point of Insertion will always move towards the
point of Origin during muscle contraction
