There are four kinds of tissues: Connective, Epithelial, Muscular, and Nervous. These tissues are categorized according to their functions.
Connective tissue connects structures and fills empty spaces. It acts similar to glue, as it holds everything in place.
Epithelial tissue lines surfaces on internal organs. It acts similar to a gate; it controls what enters the body.
Muscular tissue contracts to allow for movement. Muscles in our body act like wheels on a car- without them, we wouldn’t be able to move.
Nervous tissue send electrical signals to allow for communication. Nervous tissue acts like a telephone phone, because it transmits information through an electrical current.
