About the Authors
Dr. Ashley Segalla is an Instructor of Mathematics at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Business Administration, both from Southeastern Louisiana University. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Education from Louisiana State University. Ashley has taught 7 years at the high school and college levels.
Dr. Kiel B. Ellis is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Ellis holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems, both from Southern University at New Orleans. She obtained additional graduate-level math courses from Nicholls State University. Dr. Ellis also holds a Doctorate in Adult Education from Capella University. Dr. Ellis has taught math at the high school level and has taught college-level math and business courses for 14 years.
Renae Broussard is an Instructor of Mathematics at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Renae holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Tarleton State University, a Master’s of Art, Teaching, from Louisiana College, and a Master’s of Science, Mathematical Sciences, from McNeese State University. She is an Ed.D. candidate at University of Louisiana, Monroe, in Curriculum and Instruction. Renae has taught 16 years at the middle school, high school, and college levels.
Toni Spahn is a retired Math Instructor from the University of New Orleans. After her time at UNO, Ms. Spahn taught for 8 years at the University of Holy Cross. She holds a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of New Orleans. She has been teaching mathematics for over 35 years at the high school and college levels and is currently teaching at Cabrini High School in New Orleans, which is her alma mater.
